Picea pungens ‘Irish Cream’ is a distinctive and highly ornamental Colorado Blue Spruce celebrated for its creamy white variegated growth and elegant, upright form. In spring, soft needles emerge with a creamy white and mint-green variegation that glow against the tree’s mature blue-green needles, creating a refined, high-contrast display that brightens the landscape without overpowering it. As the season progresses, the creamy new growth gradually fades to a harmonious blue-green, giving the tree a layered, multi-season appearance. ‘Irish Cream’ develops a symmetrical pyramidal shape with strong branching and a central leader, making it an excellent choice for specimen plantings, focal points, and structured landscape designs. This slow growing evergreen is extremely cold hardy and well suited to northern climates. Like all Colorado Blue Spruce varieties, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soils.
