A true collector's conifer, Picea abies 'Gold Drift' combines graceful cascading branches with brilliant golden foliage, creating one of the most striking weeping spruces available. Originally discovered by Bob Fincham, this exceptional cultivar offers year-round architectural interest and luminous color. 'Gold Drift' can be trained to suit your landscape. When staked, it develops into a dramatic upright specimen with cascading branches resembling a golden waterfall. Left unstaked, it naturally forms a flowing groundcover or sculptural mound that spills beautifully over retaining walls, rock gardens, or slopes. Its brightest golden color develops in full sun, while lightly shaded areas produce soft chartreuse tones. Slow to intermediate in growth, this unique evergreen becomes more impressive with age and serves as a stunning focal point in conifer collections, Japanese-inspired gardens, and modern landscapes. Once established, it is cold hardy, low maintenance, and provides four seasons of color and texture.
