Aurea Golden Korean Fir, Rare Dwarf Abies Koreana Conifer Tree - Live Plant

One of the most striking golden-foliaged firs, Abies koreana 'Aurea' is a rare and highly ornamental selection of Korean Fir prized for its luminous golden-yellow new growth. In spring, the short needles emerge a brilliant lemon-yellow, showing off silvery-white undersides that give the plant an almost glowing appearance. As the season progresses, the foliage gradually softens to a more yellow-green shade. Young plants tend to form a broad, rounded or somewhat globe-shaped habit, eventually developing a central leader and becoming broadly upright to pyramidal with age. Its slow growth makes it an excellent choice for collectors who appreciate unusual conifers and want a plant that will develop character over many years. Adding even more interest are the upright cones, which emerge in shades of blue-purple to purple and provide a spectacular contrast against the golden foliage. 'Aurea' is an excellent specimen for a conifer garden, rock garden, mixed border, Japanese-inspired landscape, or collector's garden.
